Ola presented with severe heart failure following the birth of her second son. This had occurred as a result of mitral and tricuspid valve regurgitation. This means that some of the blood flows backwards, and reduces the amount of blood that flows to the right ventricle and then to lungs and rest of the body. Once Mr Deshpande had had a consultation with Ola and assessed her condition, they decided that she would need open-heart surgery to repair both of her damaged heart valves.
In Ola’s own words…
“I found Mr Deshpande to be hugely caring, knowledgeable, and able to offer advice on the best treatment route for my situation, he went above and beyond. I had done a lot of research prior to seeing Mr Deshpande and knew that he was a very skilled and respected surgeon. I was thankful that he offered me honest advice on surgery options allowing me to make the right choice. I would recommend Mr Deshpande to anyone without a second thought.”
Since the surgery Ola said she is “Very well, I am always complemented on how good the repair is during check-ups. I hope that Mr Deshpande is still operating when the time comes for a re-repair down the line.”
